Remote Learning
The Government has advised all schools to increase their remote learning provisions as the expectation is for all children to still have access to a quality education whilst unable to attend school through self-isolation or a school closure.
At Rochford Primary & Nursery School, we are currently delivering remote learning through a range of sites and services, most of which are part of our usual online provisions for children:
Google Classroom
Google classroom is our main method of setting and marking assignments, as well as posting activity-based updates on the class stream. Speak to your child's teacher to get their classroom code which will enable them to view and complete work.
Oak National Academy
The Oak National Academy will be used as a back-up to ensure that children have instant access to a remote education in the event of a child having to self-isolate or the sudden closure of school.
Oak National Academy provides video lessons and worksheets for all year groups and follows the national curriculum. Children self-isolating should complete at least 2 lessons a day and submit their work via Google Classroom.
BBC Bitesize
The BBC Bitesize online learning platform will be used in a similar role to The Oak National Academy. Children should select their year group and chosen subject and follow the on-screen tutorials to complete the work, which must also be submitted via Google Classroom.
