Sports Council
The School Sports Council are a group of children from Years 1 - 6 led by Mr Swindell (PE & Sports Lead). Our aims are simple - to improve and increase the participation, enjoyment, development and competition in sports throughout Rochford Primary & Nursery School. The children help to organise inter-school competitions (ensuring that all children take part in virtual challenges), organise and monitor playground equipment, train others to become leaders in sport and are dedicated to improve sport participation throughout the school. They also have a strong focus on developing and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
The Sports Council meet on a regular basis to discuss how to develop our sports provision and to facilitate our ambition to achieve the Sainsbury's School Sports Kite mark. We were thrilled to receive the School Games Gold Award for our continued commitment to whole school sports in the community.
Our philosophy is to ensure that sport is accessible to all and we believe in giving everyone the opportunity to take part, enjoy themselves and succeed in overcoming any barriers to achieve their personal targets.
